LATAM Group, through its air cargo subsidiaries, has once again solidified its position as the top carrier of flowers from South America to the United States, completing a highly successful Valentine’s Day transport season.
Over the span of 21 days, LATAM facilitated the movement of nearly 25,000 tons of flowers, primarily from Colombia and Ecuador, to key markets in the U.S. and Europe. The group operated more than 420 flights from Bogotá, Medellín, and Quito, connecting South American growers with consumers across the globe. The flowers, including roses, carnations, and chrysanthemums, are essential for the celebration of Valentine’s Day, one of the biggest floral holidays of the year.
LATAM Cargo’s extensive fleet, the largest in the region with 21 specialized aircraft, played a crucial role in meeting the seasonal demand. To further enhance capacity, the group also enlisted three additional freighters from external operators. This strategic move ensured that LATAM could manage the surging demand while maintaining its reputation for reliable and efficient service.

In Colombia, over 12,000 tons of flowers were transported from the departments of Antioquia and Cundinamarca, with more than 200 flights moving flowers to the U.S. Ecuador, meanwhile, saw a significant increase in its seasonal capacity. LATAM completed 214 flights, exporting around 12,500 tons of flowers—primarily roses—doubling the volume typically transported in the off-season.
