The success story of the “SAB” SENATOR Atlantic Bridge continues. On Saturday, February 22nd, 2021, the first direct flight from Mexico City (MEX) successfully landed in Frankfurt (FRA). The maiden flight marks the beginning of a permanent expansion of air cargo services to and from North and Central America.
From now on, the connection from Frankfurt (FRA) to Mexico City (MEX) will be offered three times a week. The flights will be operated by cargo airline MasAir. Specifically, a Boeing 767-300F will now operate between Mexico City, Quito (Ecuador) and Frankfurt. From Frankfurt, the cargo will be further distributed in Europe. The aircraft is operated under an ACMI contract. To mutually leverage the resources and strengths of SENATOR INTERNATIONAL and MasAir, MasAir will also offer and market the B767’s capacity in Mexico and South America.
Commenting on the launch of the new route, Tim-Oliver Kirschbaum, CEO of SENATOR INTERNATIONAL, said: “MasAir is the best partner for these flights to and from Mexico. They are reliable and experienced as an operator and have a very strong market presence. Meanwhile, GSP-Greenville Spartanburg, RFD-Rockford International, FRA-Frankfurt, HHN-Frankfurt Hahn, SIN-Singapore, JNB-Johannesburg are connected – now also MEX-Mexico City. That’s a total of 24 flights per week.”
