AVIAREPS has been appointed General Sales Agent (GSA) for WestJet Cargo in India, taking nationwide responsibility for cargo sales, customer engagement and market development on behalf of the Canadian carrier.
Under the agreement, AVIAREPS will represent WestJet Cargo across the Indian market, working with freight forwarders, cargo agents and other industry stakeholders to develop commercial relationships and identify opportunities for the airline’s cargo business.
The appointment adds to AVIAREPS’ growing air cargo representation portfolio and follows the company’s broader expansion of its global cargo GSA activities. AVIAREPS provides cargo sales, market intelligence, customer service, revenue accounting and other GSA services to airline customers, with a network of offices supporting local-market activity.
Nationwide Commercial Focus
AVIAREPS will provide a local commercial interface for WestJet Cargo customers and trade partners across India, with activities focused on supporting sales, strengthening customer engagement and developing the carrier’s presence in the market.
Frederick Overton, Global Head of Cargo at AVIAREPS, said the company’s pan-India presence and established industry relationships would support WestJet Cargo’s commercial objectives.
“We are delighted to support WestJet Cargo as its Cargo GSA in India,” Overton said. “Our pan-India presence, local market expertise and established relationships across the aviation and cargo ecosystem position us well to support WestJet Cargo’s commercial objectives in the country.”
He added that AVIAREPS would work with customers and industry partners across India as the carrier develops its cargo business in the market.
Regional Representation
The appointment forms part of WestJet Cargo’s wider sales representation structure in India. According to the information provided for the appointment, Airline Services International (ASI) will coordinate with Rainbow Aviation Private Limited to address selected regional markets, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana and Goa.
The structure is intended to provide WestJet Cargo with additional local-market coverage while maintaining a nationwide commercial presence through AVIAREPS.
Expanding Cargo Representation
For AVIAREPS, the mandate adds another international airline to its expanding cargo GSA business.
The company has been increasing its focus on air cargo representation globally. In 2026, AVIAREPS appointed Frederick Overton as Global Head of Cargo with responsibility for expanding the division and developing its relationships with airlines and cargo industry partners.
The company has subsequently announced additional cargo representation mandates, including an appointment supporting Etihad Cargo’s sales, customer service and market development in Uzbekistan and a cargo GSA agreement with Croatia Airlines covering the UK, Croatia and the Balkans.
Supporting WestJet Cargo in India
The India appointment gives WestJet Cargo a dedicated local sales structure in one of the world’s major air cargo markets. AVIAREPS will focus on building relationships with freight forwarders and other cargo stakeholders while supporting sales and market development activities.
WestJet maintains a dedicated cargo operation as part of its airline business, with cargo services supported through its wider Canadian and international network. The carrier continues to publish dedicated cargo tariffs and operational information for its cargo customers.
For AVIAREPS, the latest mandate further strengthens its position as a global cargo GSA provider, combining local market representation with its wider international aviation and logistics network.
