The FlightValet service from Liege to Abu Dhabi activates the region’s first ‘Urban Festival’ at Yas Marina Circuit
Etihad Cargo, this week delivered all 17 rally cars along with 200 cubic meters of spare parts for the region’s first ever ‘festival of racing’ FIA World Rallycross of Abu Dhabi, for which Etihad Airways is the official airline partner.

Harnessing years of experience and expertise gained shipping beloved cars and high-performance vehicles across the world, Etihad Cargo’s special charter Boeing 777F flew the WRX rally cars from Liege (where the cars had travelled to from all over Europe), to Abu Dhabi.

Bader Al Ali, Etihad Cargo Business Development Manager, said: “We are immensely proud to be part of this event, which is coming to Abu Dhabi for the first time  ever thanks to our partners at Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management and Yas Marina Circuit. This is the perfect way to celebrate FlightValet, which we launched last year in response to growing demand as our experience and reputation for care, professionalism and ease of use has become more widely known.”

Etihad Cargo transports hundreds of vehicles around the world every year, with customers ranging from individuals who want to take their sportscar on holiday, to major global racing events such as today’s shipment to Yas Marina Circuit on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.

Steve Hall, Director of Sponsorship, Yas Marina Circuit, said: “The inaugural FIA World Rallycross of Abu Dhabi will be one of our largest public events and promises three days of spectacular on and off-track entertainment.

“This type of event couldn’t happen without world-class logistics support, and for this reason we are delighted to be working alongside Etihad Cargo on this flagship project, continuing a longstanding association with one of our key partners.”

The three-day Urban Festival includes two support races: Yas Super Street Challenge – Drag racing, Monster Energy Emirates Drift Championship, before the inaugural FIA World Rallycross of Abu Dhabi 2019 headlines the racing action.
