LOT Expands Southeast Asia Cargo Connectivity with Bangkok and Hanoi Services

New Warsaw services will add belly cargo capacity and broaden routing options between Thailand, Vietnam and European markets through LOT’s Warsaw hub

LOT Polish Airlines is expanding its Southeast Asia network with new nonstop services from Warsaw to Bangkok and Hanoi, creating additional belly-hold cargo capacity and new routing opportunities between Southeast Asia and Europe.

The Warsaw–Bangkok service is scheduled to begin on 7 October 2026, while the Warsaw–Hanoi route will launch on 31 March 2027. LOT has confirmed that both services will operate year-round, with Hanoi initially scheduled for three weekly flights during the summer season and four during the winter season.

For the air cargo and freight forwarding sector, the new routes will provide additional options for shipments moving between Thailand, Vietnam, Poland and wider European markets, with cargo able to connect through LOT’s Warsaw hub into the airline’s European network.

Additional Belly Capacity for Southeast Asia–Europe Trade

Thailand and Vietnam are important manufacturing and export centres in Southeast Asia, generating significant flows of electronics, industrial goods, consumer products and other time-sensitive cargo.

The introduction of direct Warsaw services will give exporters, importers and freight forwarders additional airfreight capacity, while creating alternative routings for Europe-originating shipments bound for Thailand and Vietnam.

Through Warsaw, cargo originating in Bangkok and Hanoi will be able to connect with destinations across LOT’s European network, extending access to markets in Central, Eastern and Western Europe.

LOT’s Hanoi announcement describes Vietnam as one of Asia’s fastest-growing markets and positions the new route as part of the airline’s strategy to develop Warsaw as a gateway between Central and Eastern Europe and major Asian markets.

LOT Strengthens Asian Network

The two new routes represent a significant expansion of LOT’s long-haul Asian footprint. Hanoi will become the carrier’s fifth Asian long-haul destination, joining Tokyo, Seoul, New Delhi and Bangkok.

The Bangkok service will operate year-round from Warsaw, with LOT confirming 7 October 2026 as the inaugural date. The airline is also marketing Hanoi as a year-round service beginning 31 March 2027.

From a cargo perspective, the expansion provides LOT with a stronger platform for developing Southeast Asia–Europe trade flows and gives freight forwarders greater flexibility in planning shipments through Warsaw.

Group Concorde to Drive Cargo Development

Group Concorde will support LOT Cargo’s commercial development in Thailand and Vietnam as its cargo General Sales and Service Agent.

The company operates offices and local teams in both markets and provides cargo representation services, including GSSA, GSA and cargo sales activities. Its regional network is designed to support airline customers through local market expertise and relationships with freight forwarders and logistics providers.

Group Concorde has also highlighted its existing relationship with LOT Cargo in Vietnam, including support for the airline’s cargo operations and local customer engagement.

Building a Stronger Cargo Bridge

Michał Grochowski, Head of Cargo at LOT Polish Airlines, said the Bangkok and Hanoi connections would create new opportunities for cargo customers by linking two important Asian markets directly with Warsaw and LOT’s broader European network.

Prithviraj Chug, Chief Executive Officer of Group Concorde, said the company’s priority would be to convert the additional connectivity into sustainable cargo growth by leveraging its local teams, market knowledge and relationships with the forwarding community.

The partnership will focus on commercial development, customer engagement and market-building activities ahead of the two route launches.

With Bangkok joining the network in October 2026 and Hanoi following in March 2027, LOT is positioning Warsaw as an increasingly important bridge between Southeast Asia and the European air cargo market. The additional belly capacity should give freight forwarders more routing choices while strengthening LOT Cargo’s presence in two of the region’s key trade markets.
