Brazilian cargo carrier Modern Logistics has appointed ATC Aviation Services as its General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) for Latin America. The partnership will help drive the company’s expansion into new markets across the region, including Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, and Uruguay.
This collaboration aligns with Modern Logistics’ broader international growth strategy, which was unveiled earlier this year. The company’s two-phase expansion plan began in August, with the first phase focusing on establishing a presence in key Latin American markets. The second phase will target further expansion into Mexico and the United States.
As part of its international push, Modern Logistics also plans to establish a facility in Miami, marking a step toward broader global ambitions.
The company’s regional growth is being bolstered by its recent acquisition of two 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCFs). Modern’s first 737-800BCF, which arrived in October 2023, was a milestone for Brazil’s logistics sector as the first of its kind in the country. The second aircraft was delivered in March 2024. Both freighters are leased through Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management (BBAM).
In addition to the 737-800BCFs, Modern’s fleet includes two 737 Classics, though the company plans to phase these older models out over time, replacing them with the newer, more efficient 737-800BCFs. Modern Logistics also intends to expand its fleet further to serve underserved regional airports in the coming years.
