Singapore-based Speedcargo Technologies has partnered with Microsoft to use the tech firm’s 3D vision technologies in its artificial intelligence and robotics solutions to transform the logistics industry.

Microsoft partner hardware architect Cyrus Bamji said: “3D sensing is the next wave of computer vision, which helps ISVs differentiate and disrupt their target markets.

“Our collaboration with Speedcargo showcases the benefits for ISVs to use Microsoft 3D sensing in conjunction with Azure cloud platform.”

Speedcargo offers three modular solutions – CARGO EYE, CARGO MIND, and CARGO ARM.

The set of solutions leverage intelligent systems that provide exact dimensioning, digitization of cargo, planning & optimizing of operations, enabling automation for the stakeholders in the logistics industry.

Speedcargo claims that the implementation of its automation solution has helped a client to achieve a 20%-25% jump in revenue from underutilized assets.

CARGO EYE product has been developed by the Singapore-based firm using Microsoft’s Time-of-Flight sensing technology.

CARGO MIND, which is already available on Azure, will help scale in a fast, secure, and reliable manner. It uses IOT Edge, IOT Hub, Container Services, Data Services, and Azure Active Directory.

Leveraging Azure’s AI ecosystem, Speedcargo will further expand to develop intelligent data-driven services for the pan logistics domain.

Speedcargo Technologies founder Suraj Nair said: “The global pandemic has accelerated the need for transformation in the logistics space.

“With the number of operational flights being reduced at a rate of~75% relative to pre-pandemic time and cargo volumes at nearly pre-pandemic levels, there is an immediate need for optimization.

“Speedcargo is working closely with Microsoft to build a digital twin of the physical cargo, provide critical information and the building blocks for a digitized operational model.”

Speedcargo provides advanced AI and robotics solutions to the logistics industry. It offers a suite of products for digitization, optimization, and automation.

The company’s solutions are said to reduce revenue leakage, maximize operational efficiency, and enhance productivity.
