Eurus Express, a leading logistics firm, has announced the launch of a new freighter service connecting Haikou with Milan, marking a significant step in enhancing cross-border e-commerce and luxury goods transport. This new twice-weekly charter flight, operated by Georgian Airlines using a Boeing 767-300 freighter, will run between Haikou Meilan International Airport and Milan Malpensa Airport.
The introduction of this service is a milestone for Haikou, as it establishes the city’s first direct cargo link to Milan. This new route is set to cater to the growing e-commerce demands between China and Europe, facilitating smoother and faster delivery of goods.In Haikou, cargo handling will be managed by Menzies Aviation, while BCUBE Air Cargo (MLE) will oversee operations in Milan. The launch of this service comes as Haikou solidifies its position as a major free trade zone and a key player in the import of luxury and duty-free products.Haikou’s role as a pivotal free trade city has been underscored by its burgeoning duty-free market, which boasts the largest stand-alone duty-free store globally. The new freighter route is expected to strengthen Haikou’s position in importing high-end products from Milan, thus catering to the increasing consumer demand in Southern China.Eurus Express has ambitious plans for the future. The company aims to increase the frequency of flights from Haikou and expand its network to new international destinations. “As China’s leading free port city, Haikou is a major hub for luxury and duty-free goods.
