New collaboration supports Arkia’s entry into the Lithuanian market, strengthening operational connectivity between Vilnius and Tel Aviv
Baltic Ground Services (BGS), a leading international provider of ground handling and aircraft fuelling solutions, has commenced a new partnership with Arkia Israeli Airlines at Vilnius Airport (VNO), delivering comprehensive ground handling and into-plane fuelling services for the carrier’s direct operations between Lithuania and Israel.
The agreement represents the first collaboration between BGS and Arkia Israeli Airlines and further expands BGS’s growing portfolio of international airline customers at Vilnius Airport. The partnership underscores the increasing importance of reliable ground support services as airlines continue to expand networks and open new international routes.
Arkia launched scheduled flights between Vilnius and Tel Aviv in May 2026, marking the airline’s entry into the Lithuanian aviation market. The carrier currently operates the route three times a week during the summer season, creating a direct air link that strengthens connectivity between Lithuania and Israel while providing travellers with additional travel options.
As part of the agreement, BGS will provide a full range of operational support services, including aircraft ground handling and into-plane fuelling, ensuring efficient turnaround processes and reliable day-to-day operations for Arkia’s flights at Vilnius Airport.
Commenting on the new cooperation, Vitalis Dudys, Head of Commerce at BGS Group, said:
“Welcoming a new airline customer is always an important milestone. We are pleased to begin cooperation with Arkia in Vilnius and support the airline’s entry into the Lithuanian market. As air connectivity continues to recover and expand, reliable ground support remains an important factor in ensuring a positive operational experience from day one.”
Meital Dahan Mizrahi, Vice President Ground Operations and Customer Service Manager at Arkia Israeli Airlines, highlighted the importance of establishing strong local partnerships when entering a new destination.
“Vilnius is an important addition to our seasonal network, and establishing reliable local partnerships is essential when launching operations in a new market. We are pleased to work with BGS and look forward to supporting passengers travelling between Lithuania and Israel throughout the summer season,” she said.
The cooperation further strengthens BGS’s strategic presence at Vilnius Airport, where the company continues to provide ground handling and aircraft fuelling services to a growing number of international carriers. By expanding its airline customer base and delivering high-quality operational support, BGS continues to reinforce its role as a key aviation services provider in the Baltic region.
The partnership also reflects a broader trend in the aviation industry, where efficient airport services, dependable turnaround management, and seamless fuelling operations remain essential for supporting airline network expansion and maintaining operational reliability.
