Air Canada Cargo is set to regain bellyhold capacity between Canada and Israel after Air Canada announced an earlier-than-planned resumption of its Toronto–Tel Aviv service.
The airline will restart the year-round route on 30 November 2026, operating four flights per week between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport. Services will be operated with Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
The return had previously been scheduled for mid-January. Air Canada said the decision to bring forward the restart followed a detailed assessment of operational, safety and security considerations in the Middle East.

Additional Cargo Capacity for Israel–Canada Trade
For Air Canada Cargo, the resumption restores dedicated belly capacity on a direct link between Israel and the carrier’s Toronto hub.
The cargo division said the service will provide customers with additional capacity, connectivity and flexibility for shipments moving between Israel, Canada and destinations across Air Canada’s wider network.
Matthieu Casey, Managing Director – Commercial at Air Canada Cargo, said the earlier return would provide customers with more predictable capacity and network connectivity.
He added that the route would support trade flows between Israel and Canada while giving shippers access to additional markets through Toronto.
Capacity for Time-Sensitive Shipments
The Boeing 787 operation will provide bellyhold capacity for a range of international cargo, with Air Canada Cargo highlighting potential demand from customers shipping time-sensitive and high-value products, healthcare goods, technology and e-commerce shipments.
The direct Toronto–Tel Aviv connection also provides opportunities for cargo to move through Toronto and connect with Air Canada’s wider North American and international network.
For freight forwarders, the restoration of a nonstop service can reduce reliance on connecting hubs and provide another option for shipments requiring predictable transit times.
Four Weekly Flights
The restored service will operate four times per week from Toronto. Air Canada’s official schedule announcement confirms that flights will be operated using both Boeing 787-9 and 787-8 aircraft.
The airline’s current booking system is also displaying Toronto–Tel Aviv itineraries beginning on 30 November, supporting the announced restart date.
The return of the route comes after Air Canada suspended Tel Aviv operations amid the wider security situation in the Middle East. The airline said its decision to resume the service followed a thorough review of conditions in the region.
Dubai Suspension Extended
While Tel Aviv operations are being restored, Air Canada continues to suspend services to Dubai.
The airline’s latest Middle East travel advisory, updated on 24 September 2026, states that flights to and from Dubai will remain cancelled until the end of March 2027. This replaces the previous guidance that had indicated a suspension until mid-January.
The contrasting decisions underline the airline’s approach of evaluating individual markets based on operational, safety and security conditions rather than applying a single timetable to its Middle East network.
Toronto Hub to Support Cargo Connectivity
The reinstatement of the Tel Aviv service will add another international passenger route to Air Canada’s Toronto hub, with corresponding belly capacity for cargo customers.
Toronto Pearson serves as Air Canada’s principal international hub and provides connections into the carrier’s extensive Canadian, US and international network. For cargo customers, the restored nonstop service creates a direct Canada–Israel option while maintaining access to onward destinations through Toronto.
The resumption also comes as airlines gradually reassess Middle East networks following the disruption to regional aviation earlier in 2026.
