UK-based aviation consultancy ACC Aviation has successfully completed the remarketing and sale of an ATR 72-600turboprop aircraft to Federal Express Corporation, acting on behalf of Air Calédonie, the flag carrier of New Caledonia.
ACC Aviation was appointed as the exclusive advisor for the transaction and managed the entire remarketing process, structuring the sale to maximise asset value for the regional airline while identifying a suitable buyer in the global cargo market.
Structured remarketing process
As part of its mandate, ACC Aviation implemented a comprehensive aircraft remarketing strategy covering several key stages of the transaction. These included asset valuation, pricing strategy development, targeted buyer outreach, and the coordination of both commercial and technical workstreams through to final closing.
The firm utilised real-time market intelligence and its global aviation network to generate competitive interest in the aircraft, ultimately securing a sale to Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express logistics operators.
The ATR 72-600 platform has become increasingly popular in the cargo sector due to its suitability for regional freight operations, particularly on short-haul and feeder routes where turboprop freighters offer operational efficiency and lower operating costs compared with larger jet aircraft.
The transaction also reflects the continuing demand among cargo operators for regional feeder aircraft capable of supporting integrated logistics networks.
Growing role in aircraft remarketing
For ACC Aviation, the deal reinforces its position as a global aircraft remarketing specialist, highlighting the firm’s ability to structure competitive sales processes and connect airline sellers with institutional-grade buyers seeking fleet expansion opportunities.
The consultancy noted that its involvement spanned the entire lifecycle of the transaction, ensuring alignment between the seller’s commercial objectives and the buyer’s operational requirements.
Airline feedback on the transaction
Daniel Houmbouy, chief executive officer of Air Calédonie, said the airline was satisfied with the advisory services provided during the sale.
“Air Calédonie would like to express its full satisfaction regarding the services provided by ACC in support of the sale of one of our ATR 72 aircraft,” Houmbouy said.
“Throughout the entire process, ACC demonstrated a high level of professionalism and proactivity. Thanks to their extensive industry network and market knowledge, we were able to identify a suitable buyer within a relatively short timeframe.
“Their structured approach and hands-on involvement were key factors in the successful completion of the transaction.”
The sale underscores the growing interaction between regional passenger operators divesting assets and global cargo carriers expanding feeder networks, as logistics companies continue to strengthen regional connectivity within their broader air freight systems.
