Cathay Cargo is set to expand its European trucking operations and enhance shipment visibility through a new strategic agreement with Wallenborn Transport. The collaboration builds on Cathay Cargo’s existing ground transport network and introduces advanced tracking and monitoring capabilities for customers across the continent.
Under the partnership, customers will benefit from broader connectivity across Europe, improved reliability of transport processes, and greater transparency throughout the logistics chain. Real-time tracking and live temperature monitoring are central features of the agreement, providing end-to-end visibility and ensuring timely interventions when disruptions occur.
Enhancing operational efficiency and shipment integrity
According to Wallenborn, the integration of live shipment data enables operational teams and customers to make faster decisions and respond more effectively to delays. This capability is particularly critical for temperature-sensitive cargo, where early detection of deviations helps safeguard product integrity and minimizes the risk of quality incidents across the transport journey.
Frantz Wallenborn, Executive Chairman of Wallenborn Transport, emphasised the significance of the agreement: “This partnership with Cathay Cargo represents an important milestone in the continued development of our European trucking network. By strengthening cooperation with one of the world’s leading air cargo carriers, we are expanding connectivity and efficiency while delivering added value to customers through enhanced live tracking capabilities and real-time temperature monitoring.”
Expansive European footprint
Wallenborn Transport operates 17 bases across 13 European countries, offering connections to more than 120 airport destinations. The collaboration with Cathay Cargo leverages this network to provide seamless integration between air and ground transport, improving the speed, reliability, and transparency of cargo movements across Europe.
The agreement marks a strategic step for Cathay Cargo as it seeks to optimize its European logistics operations, increase operational resilience, and provide a higher level of service to its customers. By combining the strengths of a leading air cargo carrier with a well-established European trucking network, the partnership is expected to enhance supply chain efficiency, particularly for high-value and temperature-sensitive shipments.
