Business group Logistics UK has strengthened its Board with the appointment of three new directors.

Louisa Hosegood, Simon Hobbs and Gavin Murdoch join the organisation’s Board to help guide the business as it continues to lead the logistics industry in its post-pandemic recovery, as well as establishing itself as a top three business group with government and other stakeholders.

“Our new directors join us at an exciting time in our organisation’s development,” says Logistics UK President Phil Roe, “and each brings a wealth of knowledge and business acumen which will be invaluable as we continue to drive Logistics UK forwards. “The organisation passed 20,000 members for the first time recently, and we have ambitious plans for the year ahead – I look forward to working with them to deliver for our membership and the wider logistics industry.”

All three new directors have extensive experience in the industry, gained in a variety of roles and transport modes. Mrs Hosegood, now Strategy and Transformation Director for Bis Henderson Group, previously worked in senior roles with John Lewis Partnership, Marks & Spencer and Tesco PLC.

She is passionate about fit-for-future joined-up supply chains, and is currently central to developing innovative, customer-centric services across Bis Henderson’s consulting, warehousing space and recruitment businesses.

Hobbs is CEO of Kinaxia Logistics, one of the UK’s fastest-growing logistics businesses, which currently operates more than 850 vehicles and 2.7 million square feet of warehousing nationwide.

Prior to joining Kinaxia, he gained 35 years of experience with organisations including DHL Supply Chain, CEVA Logistics and Kuehne & Nagel.

Murdoch joined DHL Supply Chain in 1996 in Northern Ireland and has subsequently worked in many of the company’s operations around the world.  Now Managing Director of Network Transport Solutions at DHL Supply Chain UKI, he leads a team of cross-sector experts driving growth, efficiency and carbon reduction, as well as upskilling the next generation of employees.

“Over the past few years, Logistics UK has established a reputation for excellence, building a significant presence for the sector with parliament and other stakeholders,” continues Roe. “Alongside our existing expert board members, I am confident that our new directors will provide the challenge and impetus the organisation needs to continue its growth and deliver on its ambitious plans for the sector.”
