Magma Aviation, a leading air cargo solutions provider, has significantly expanded its operations in 2024 with new hubs in Dubai and Dublin, enhancing operational efficiency and market reach.
A key milestone was its multi-year contract with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) for freighter handling at Liege Airport, strengthening cargo operations at a major European hub. The addition of narrow-body aircraft diversified the fleet, while the new Dublin headquarters connected the company to the world’s largest aircraft leasing market. The Dubai office boosts Magma’s presence in the Middle East and facilitates expansion into Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, and China.
“2024 has been both exciting and challenging. Our strength lies in our people, who are true experts in their field,” said CEO Peter Kerins.

The global air cargo industry saw an 11.3% demand increase in 2024, with capacity growing by 7.4%. Magma’s partnership with WFS aligns with its five-year growth plan. “WFS was the perfect fit as we scale our operations,” Kerins noted.
Dublin’s importance as a global aviation hub, with 50% of the world’s leased aircraft managed from Ireland, made it a strategic choice for Magma’s headquarters. Dubai’s central location offers unparalleled connectivity, supporting current routes in Africa and the Middle East while enabling market expansion.
Looking to 2025, air cargo demand is expected to grow by 5.8%, despite geopolitical and economic challenges. Magma plans to expand its fleet, including medium-sized freighters, by late 2025 to support B747 operations. Narrow-body aircraft will require a flexible, responsive sales approach due to regional variations and positioning costs.
Magma also plans to enhance its General Sales Agent (GSA) model, partnering with local sales agents to enter new markets. “Our GSA partners will play a crucial role in our expansion,” Kerins stated.
As Magma Aviation nears its 15th anniversary, Kerins reflected, “Our people have always been our greatest asset. With the support of Avia Solutions Group, the future looks promising.”
With strategic growth, fleet expansion, and strong partnerships, Magma Aviation is set for continued success in the dynamic air cargo industry.
