Titan Aviation Leasing has delivered the first of two Airbus A330-200 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) aircraft to JD Airlines, marking a major expansion milestone for the carrier as it scales its international express network amid surging e-commerce demand across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Europe.
The aircraft—MSN 832—joins JD Airlines’ rapidly growing widebody fleet under a long-term operating lease, reinforcing the airline’s strategy to build out cross-border logistics capacity in support of JD.com, China’s largest retailer by revenue.
A second A330-200P2F, also under management by Titan, is slated for delivery in the first half of 2026.
Eamonn Forbes, chief commercial officer at Titan Aviation Leasing, said the delivery underscores both companies’ strategic focus on high-growth freight markets.
“We are pleased to announce the delivery of the first of two A330-200P2F aircraft to JD Airlines,” he said. “This transaction aligns with Titan’s strategy of deploying capital into high-demand freighter segments with strong counterparties. Leasing these aircraft underscores Asia’s strategic importance in global trade and demonstrates our commitment to providing efficient, flexible freighter capacity to operators serving e-commerce and express markets.”
JD Airlines, established as the dedicated cargo carrier of JD.com, is positioned at the heart of China’s outbound e-commerce boom, where long-haul capacity is becoming increasingly critical for next-day and two-day international delivery offerings.
The A330-200P2F—capable of carrying up to 61 tonnes of payload across 4,200 nautical miles—offers JD Airlines a highly efficient widebody platform that can serve both regional hubs and long-haul routes. Its combination of fuel efficiency, reliability and range positions it as one of the most flexible mid-widebody freighters currently in service.
The aircraft forms part of Titan Aviation Holdings’ broader growth strategy within the converted-freighter segment. Titan, owned by Atlas Air Worldwide and supported through a joint venture with Bain Capital, continues to invest in assets aligned with sustained global e-commerce growth. Last month, Titan completed the sale of two Boeing 737-800SF freighters to Singapore-based engineering and aerospace group ST Engineering.
As JD Airlines expands its international footprint, the arrival of the A330-200P2F marks a key step toward strengthening China’s position in the global e-commerce logistics ecosystem.
