Global GSA Group, through its subsidiary Mondial Airline Services Spain, has strengthened its European network by being appointed as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for China Southern Airlines Cargo in Spain. The partnership was formalized following a competitive tender and coincides with the launch of China Southern’s direct cargo service between Madrid and Guangzhou, which began operations on 2 December 2025.
Operating three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the Boeing 787-9 service provides a direct widebody connection between Spain and one of China’s primary cargo hubs, Guangzhou-Baiyun (CAN). Each flight offers a payload capacity of 15,000 kg and 80 cubic metres, facilitating the movement of general cargo, temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, seafood, and other specialized goods. Beyond Guangzhou, shipments can connect seamlessly to additional destinations across China, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, leveraging China Southern’s extensive network.
Mondial Airline Services Spain serves as the local operational and commercial representative for China Southern Airlines Cargo. The team manages booking, customer support, and operational coordination, effectively functioning as an extension of the airline within the Spanish market. This ensures a smooth route launch, market integration, and ongoing alignment with China Southern’s global strategy.
Aytekin Saray, CEO of Global GSA Group, said: “We are proud to extend our long-standing collaboration with China Southern Airlines Cargo to Spain. By combining state-of-the-art digital solutions, local market expertise, and close collaboration with Spain’s freight forwarding community, we aim to ensure this new route achieves sustainable growth and profitability.”
The Madrid–Guangzhou connection is expected to strengthen trade flows between Spain and China, supporting both exports and imports while providing reliable logistics solutions for perishable, high-value, and time-critical cargo. With the integration of Mondial’s local team and China Southern’s network capabilities, the route highlights the increasing importance of Spain as a gateway for China–Europe airfreight.
