ULD management specialist Jettainer has extended its long-term partnership with CMA CGM Air Cargo, reinforcing collaboration as the airline prepares for significant fleet expansion and continued growth in global cargo operations.
The agreement, originally concluded in 2022, has been renewed ahead of schedule for the long term to support the carrier’s evolving operational requirements, particularly as it expands its freighter fleet in the coming years.
Under the renewed contract, Jettainer will continue to provide comprehensive Unit Load Device (ULD) management services, including supply, maintenance and repair of cargo containers and pallets. The partnership also incorporates advanced digital tracking and optimisation tools to ensure efficient utilisation of ULD assets across the airline’s global network.
Supporting Fleet Expansion
The extension reflects the rapid development of CMA CGM Air Cargo since its launch and its ambitions to further expand capacity in the international air freight market.
Founded in March 2021 as part of the broader logistics strategy of CMA CGM Group, the airline plays a central role in the company’s ambition to offer fully integrated maritime, land, air and logistics services.
Today, CMA CGM Air Cargo operates a fleet of eight freighter aircraft, comprising:
- Five Boeing 777F freighters
- One Airbus A330F
- Two Boeing 747F aircraft
Looking ahead, the airline plans to significantly expand its fleet beginning in 2027, when the first of eight next-generation Airbus A350F freighters are scheduled to enter service.
The addition of these aircraft is expected to increase capacity and improve fuel efficiency across the airline’s long-haul network.
Tailored ULD Fleet and Digital Management
To support the airline’s operational growth, Jettainer will supply a customised ULD fleet tailored to CMA CGM Air Cargo’s specific aircraft types and route structure.
The company will also continue to provide maintenance and repair services to ensure the availability and safety of ULD equipment across the carrier’s expanding global operations.
A central component of the partnership is Jettainer’s digital management system, JettwareNG, which provides real-time monitoring and data analytics for ULD fleets. The platform enables airlines to track container and pallet movements across their networks while optimising positioning and utilisation.
By combining digital tracking with predictive planning tools, the system helps reduce empty repositioning movements, improve asset efficiency and support more sustainable logistics operations.
