Dubai-based cargo airline SolitAir has received official authorisation to operate cargo and mail services into the European Union, marking a significant step in the airline’s international expansion. The designation, effective 19 March 2026, was granted by the Belgium Civil Aviation Authority under the EU ACC3 framework for third-country air carriers.
SolitAir announced the milestone via LinkedIn on 31 March, highlighting the achievement as both a regulatory requirement and a strategic indicator of the airline’s global ambitions. “SolitAir is building the connections that global trade demands. This is not just a milestone. This is a statement of where SolitAir is headed,” the airline said, emphasising its commitment to compliance, security, and supply chain integrity.
ACC3 designation and compliance requirements
The ACC3 (Air Cargo or Mail Carrier operating into the Union from a Third Country Airport) status is mandatory for non-EU airlines wishing to operate cargo or mail services into EU member states. To qualify, carriers must undergo an EU Aviation Security Validation conducted by an Independent Validator accredited by an EU Member State. Once registered in the EU database, the designation is valid for up to five years.
ACC3 operators must ensure that all cargo and mail entering the EU is either physically screened to EU standards or originates from a secure, EU-validated supply chain. The designation provides shippers and regulators with confidence that all cargo operations meet the stringent safety and security standards of the EU aviation sector.
SolitAir’s operational growth
SolitAir obtained its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authorityin March 2025. Since launching operations, the airline has focused on serving Middle Eastern and Asian markets, with future plans to expand into Africa. The ACC3 approval positions SolitAir to enter European markets, enabling it to offer reliable, compliant cargo services across major EU hubs.
“This recognition from the Belgium Civil Aviation Authority underscores our dedication to operational excellence and international compliance,” SolitAir said, acknowledging the efforts of its team in achieving the milestone.
With ACC3 authorisation in place, SolitAir can now strengthen its intercontinental network, providing secure and efficient air cargo and mail solutions between the UAE, Asia, and Europe.
