GEODIS Selects Rotate to Deepen Global Air Cargo Market Intelligence

Global logistics provider GEODIS has entered into a strategic partnership with Rotate to strengthen its air freight market intelligence capabilities, as forwarders increasingly turn to real-time data analytics to navigate volatile global cargo conditions.

The collaboration gives GEODIS access to Rotate’s advanced market intelligence suite, including its Live Capacityand Air Demand platforms, enabling the logistics group to monitor global cargo supply and demand patterns in near real time while enhancing strategic planning across its international air freight operations.

The move comes as the global air cargo sector continues to experience rapid structural shifts driven by geopolitical disruptions, evolving trade patterns, semiconductor demand, e-commerce growth, and capacity imbalances across major trade corridors. GEODIS itself has recently highlighted the operational impact of Middle East airspace restrictions and capacity volatility in customer advisories issued earlier this year.

Under the agreement, GEODIS will integrate Rotate’s Live Capacity platform, which provides hourly visibility into worldwide air cargo supply using real-time aircraft positioning data. The platform tracks all carriers, airports, and operated flights globally, including passenger bellyhold capacity, dedicated freighter operations, and charter movements. Historical datasets dating back to 2018 will also allow GEODIS to analyze long-term structural shifts in capacity deployment and network development. Rotate says the platform covers thousands of airlines, more than 9,000 airports, and over 200 aircraft types globally.

Complementing this supply-side intelligence, Rotate’s Air Demand product offers detailed visibility into cargo demand trends across major global trade lanes. By combining customs trade data, cargo flows, and external market sources, the platform provides commodity-level insights covering more than 5,000 product categories, including critical sectors such as semiconductors, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and cross-border e-commerce.

Industry observers note that the combination of live supply data and historical demand intelligence is becoming increasingly valuable as forwarders seek faster responses to sudden market disruptions, route changes, and shifting commodity flows.

Ryan Keyrouse, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rotate, said the partnership reflects the growing importance of turning complex market data into operational intelligence.

“Today’s air cargo market demands faster decisions and deeper visibility. By combining data with actionable insight, companies can respond more effectively to rapidly changing market conditions.”

Casper Hedemann, Senior Vice President Global Air Freight at GEODIS, said the collaboration supports the company’s broader digital transformation strategy.

“As air cargo markets become increasingly dynamic, access to reliable real-time intelligence is essential. This partnership helps us strengthen a more data-driven approach across our global air freight business.”

The agreement underscores a broader industry trend toward predictive analytics, digital visibility, and AI-enabled decision-making as freight forwarders seek greater resilience amid geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain disruption, and shifting global trade flows.

With global air cargo demand increasingly influenced by technology-driven commodities, regional manufacturing shifts, and ongoing network disruptions, access to granular market intelligence is rapidly becoming a competitive differentiator for logistics providers worldwide.
