New partnership strengthens Hong Kong Air Cargo’s operations at Istanbul Airport as the carrier continues to expand its European network
Aeroglobe Aviation Services has commenced cargo handling operations for Hong Kong Air Cargo in Türkiye, marking a significant milestone for the Istanbul-based aviation services provider and further strengthening cargo connectivity between Europe and Asia.
The appointment, officially announced by Aeroglobe Aviation Services on 16 June, will see the company provide comprehensive cargo handling support for Hong Kong Air Cargo’s scheduled freighter operations linking Istanbul Airport with Hong Kong International Airport. The partnership underlines the growing importance of Türkiye as a strategic gateway for air freight flows between the European and Asian markets.
In its announcement, Aeroglobe highlighted that the agreement reflects its commitment to delivering reliable, efficient, and customer-focused aviation solutions while supporting the continued growth of regional air cargo operations.
“We are pleased to announce that, as of today, Aeroglobe Aviation Services has officially commenced providing cargo handling services for Hong Kong Air Cargo in Türkiye,” the company stated.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to delivering reliable, efficient, and customer-focused aviation services while supporting the growth of air cargo operations in the region. We would like to thank Hong Kong Air Cargo and all stakeholders involved for their trust and cooperation. We look forward to building a strong and successful partnership together.”
The new contract adds to Aeroglobe’s expanding portfolio of aviation support services, which include aircraft handling supervision, ground support coordination, turnaround management, and customised operational solutions for commercial and private aviation customers. The company’s expertise in airline representation and operational supervision positions it as a key support partner for international carriers operating through the Turkish market.
Hong Kong Air Cargo has steadily strengthened its footprint across Europe as part of its wider network expansion strategy. Following the launch of its European operations with services to Milan Malpensa in October 2023, the airline has progressively added new destinations, including Istanbul, Cyprus, and Athens, creating stronger cargo links between Europe and Hong Kong.
The carrier has also continued to invest in fleet development to support its growing international ambitions. In January 2026, Hong Kong Air Cargo inducted an Airbus A330-200 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) aircraft into its fleet, expanding its capacity beyond its existing five Airbus A330-200 production freighters. The aircraft is dry leased from its parent company, Hong Kong Airlines, while the airline also operates an EFW-converted Airbus A330-300P2F on an ACMI lease.
The addition of the sixth aircraft enhances the airline’s operational flexibility and supports its strategy to optimise frequencies, strengthen regional trade lanes, and pursue further expansion into key international cargo markets.
The partnership between Aeroglobe Aviation Services and Hong Kong Air Cargo represents another example of increasing collaboration between specialised ground handling providers and dedicated cargo airlines, ensuring efficient, seamless, and reliable freight movement across increasingly complex global supply chains.
