Dubai-based cargo airline SolitAir has launched a new freighter service between Dubai World Central (DWC) and Tianjin Binhai International Airport, taking another step in expanding its operations across China.
The new route follows the airline’s earlier cargo services to Hong Kong and Urumqi, strengthening its presence in one of the world’s biggest trade markets.
The first Dubai–Tianjin flight carried a VIP cargo shipment, highlighting the route’s role in handling secure, high-value, and time-sensitive freight.
Hamdi Osman, Founder and CEO of SolitAir, said China remains one of the airline’s most important growth markets. He added that the Tianjin service gives customers direct access to one of northern China’s largest manufacturing and logistics hubs while supporting the growing non-oil trade relationship between the UAE and China.
Tianjin is a key gateway for industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and high-value industrial equipment. The city also plays an important role in regional trade and international supply chains.
Earlier this month, SolitAir also launched its first European Union route with cargo flights to Sofia, Bulgaria, marking another milestone in the airline’s international expansion.
SolitAir received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority in March 2024 and officially began operations in October 2024.
Since then, the airline has expanded to 56 routes across more than 30 countries, including an 18-city African network supported by its Nairobi hub.
The carrier currently operates seven Boeing 737-800 converted freighters. Each aircraft can carry up to 20 tonnes of cargo, including dangerous goods, pharmaceuticals, perishables, oversized freight, and other high-value shipments.
Looking ahead, SolitAir plans to grow its fleet to 20 aircraft, operating from its 20,440-square-metre cargo hub at Dubai World Central as it continues expanding its global cargo network.
