Latvian airline airBalticreports that in 2021 it has carried over 640 000 bags of airmail within its network, thus maintaining its status as the largest air mail carrier in the Baltic region.
In total, airBaltichandled almost 9 000 tonnes of cargo and mail in 2021.
Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “We provide the best connectivity to and from the Baltic region and that does not only matter to those who travel. It also means we can offer scheduled air cargo services essential for fast and reliable exchange of goods. In the age of digital commerce, consumer goods often arrive by air. So does medical goods and other essential shipments. Last year we handled around 6 million letters and parcels.”
airBaltic is the largest export airmail partner to Latvijas Pasts and the largest air mail carrier in the Baltics. Each bag of airmail consists of letters, both smaller and larger parcels, and consists of 10-15 shipments on average.
In 2021, airBalticcontinued its expansion in the Baltics by launching 15 new routes, including flights to such destinations as Dubai or Tenerife.
