Frankfurt-based IT specialist allivate, which focuses on digital solutions for the air cargo industry, has begun 2026 with a strengthened leadership structure, appointing Matthias Hupka and Niklas Petri as Managing Directors with effect from January 1. Both executives were previously senior consultants within the company and now jointly head allivate’s operations.
Under the revised management structure, Matthias Hupka will assume responsibility for IT, project management and product management. His remit includes the technical and strategic development of allivate’s FAIR@Link platform, as well as the integration of new digital modules and services designed to support increasingly complex air cargo workflows.
A trained computer scientist, Hupka began his career at Fraport before moving on to cimt and later the consulting firm WSP, where he held a number of IT advisory roles. He brings extensive expertise spanning air cargo operations, management consulting and IT development, positioning him to drive the next phase of platform innovation at allivate.
Niklas Petri, meanwhile, will oversee sales and the operational design of digitised and automated air cargo processes. His focus will include market expansion, strategic business development and the creation of new services and business models tailored to evolving industry requirements.
Petri is an economist specialising in logistics and is also a qualified forwarding agent, giving him a strong understanding of operational processes from both commercial and execution perspectives. He gained in-depth air cargo experience at DB Schenker, before taking on project management and strategic development roles at DB Cargo.
In their new roles, Hupka and Petri have identified process consulting and strategic expansion as shared priorities, reflecting allivate’s ambition to play a broader role in the digital transformation of the air cargo sector.
Commenting on their appointment, the two Managing Directors said: “Our unique selling point is how we work closely with the community on the digital transformation to achieve the best possible result for the air cargo industry. We want to apply the very successful concept of an established and shared Cargo Community System developed at Frankfurt Airport to other airports.”
With its expanded leadership team, allivate aims to accelerate the rollout of collaborative, data-driven air cargo solutions, building on its experience at FRA while supporting airports and cargo stakeholders globally.
