Cargolux has reinforced its commitment to wildlife conservation and specialised live animal logistics by transporting six captive Asian bears from South Korea to their new permanent sanctuary at Knuthenborg Safaripark in Denmark.
The Luxembourg-based all-cargo airline carried out the mission in partnership with animal welfare organisation Bears in Mind, providing the flight free of charge as part of a broader initiative to improve the welfare and living conditions of the rescued animals.
Leveraging its extensive experience in the transportation of live animals, Cargolux ensured the bears were moved under carefully controlled conditions, with a strong focus on safety, animal wellbeing and adherence to international transport standards. The successful operation marked another example of the airline’s capability in managing complex and sensitive cargo movements beyond conventional freight.
The relocation represents a significant milestone for the six Asian bears, which had previously been kept in captivity in South Korea. Their transfer to Knuthenborg Safaripark will provide them with a more natural and enriched environment designed to support their long-term health and wellbeing.
