New charter specialist executes urgent freight operations for automotive manufacturing and temperature-controlled cargo, highlighting growing demand for time-critical air logistics.

CharterDesk has successfully completed its first two dedicated air cargo charter operations since launching at the end of June, providing urgent freight solutions for customers in the automotive and perishables sectors. The missions underscore the increasing reliance on dedicated charter services to keep supply chains moving when conventional logistics options are unable to meet critical delivery requirements.

The company’s inaugural cargo charter, completed in late June, supported a major automotive manufacturer and an international logistics provider facing a time-sensitive supply chain challenge. Working in partnership with BBN Airlines Türkiye, CharterDesk arranged an Airbus A321 freighter to operate a direct flight from Cairo International Airport (CAI) to Istanbul Airport (IST).

The aircraft transported 11 tonnes of automotive components destined for a manufacturing facility in Türkiye, where any delay could have resulted in a temporary production shutdown. According to CharterDesk, all required flight permits and ground handling arrangements were coordinated with the airline, enabling the aircraft to depart within 24 hours of receiving the charter request.

Temperature-Controlled Charter for Perishable Cargo

Building on its initial operation, CharterDesk completed a second charter mission in early July on behalf of a Turkish freight forwarder.

The company arranged an MNG Airlines Airbus A330 freighter to transport 59 tonnes of temperature-sensitive perishable cargo from Istanbul Airport (IST) to Ouagadougou Airport (OUA) in Burkina Faso.

Throughout the journey, the shipment required strict temperature control between 15°C and 25°C to preserve product quality and maintain compliance with handling requirements.

The operation presented an additional logistical challenge due to a shortage of Jet A-1 aviation fuel at Ouagadougou Airport, which threatened the scheduled flight.

CharterDesk said it worked closely with its network of aviation fuel suppliers to secure the required fuel uplift in Burkina Faso, allowing the aircraft to complete the mission without disruption.

Rapid Response for Critical Supply Chains

Commenting on the operations, Emir Ozdabak, Managing Director of CharterDesk, said dedicated cargo charters are often required when unexpected events place critical supply chains at risk.

“Cargo charters are usually booked during emergency situations, such as the risk of a factory shutdown or, as could become a more pressing issue these days, a fuel shortage situation,” Ozdabak said.

He added that the company’s approach is centred on delivering rapid, coordinated solutions through close collaboration with airlines, ground service providers and logistics partners to minimise disruption for customers.

Growing Demand for Dedicated Cargo Charters

The successful completion of CharterDesk’s first charter flights reflects continued demand for flexible, dedicated air cargo capacity capable of supporting industries where speed, reliability and operational expertise are essential.

As global supply chains become increasingly complex, manufacturers, freight forwarders and shippers are turning to specialised charter providers to manage urgent shipments, production-critical cargo and temperature-sensitive freight that require customised transport solutions beyond scheduled air cargo services.

The company’s early operations demonstrate the vital role air cargo charters continue to play in maintaining industrial production, protecting perishable supply chains and ensuring business continuity in time-critical logistics environments.
