DHL Aviation has strengthened its commercial leadership in Asia with the appointment of two senior sales executives responsible for air capacity sales in China and Southeast Asia.
Julie Zhu has been appointed Senior Director, China Air Capacity Sales, while Jaspall Singh will become Senior Director, Southeast Asia Air Capacity Sales. The appointments were announced by Ingrid Raj, Chief Cargo Officer at DHL Aviation, in a LinkedIn post.
Zhu took up her new position on September 15, while Singh is scheduled to begin his role on January 1, 2027.
Raj said the appointments reflect DHL Aviation’s focus on markets where demand for air cargo is expanding.
“Southeast Asia and China are two of the world’s fastest-growing air cargo regions and deserve dedicated leadership,” Raj said.
Both executives will report directly to Raj. According to the announcement, the appointments are intended to strengthen DHL Aviation’s commercial focus in the two Asian markets and support customers as their air freight requirements develop.
Zhu brings 22 years of Lufthansa Cargo experience
Zhu joins DHL from Lufthansa Cargo, where she spent 22 years in a range of commercial and revenue-management positions.
Most recently, she served as Head of Revenue Management and Pricing for Asia Pacific. Based in Shanghai, Zhu brings extensive experience of air cargo pricing, capacity management and the Chinese market.
Her appointment gives DHL Aviation dedicated senior commercial leadership for China at a time when the country’s manufacturing, e-commerce and international trade flows continue to underpin significant air freight demand.
Singh moves into Southeast Asia leadership role
Singh has been with DHL for 16 years, beginning his career within Aviation Commercial Services Finance.
His most recent position was Director of Revenue Management for China and Central and North Asia, based in Hong Kong.
He will relocate to Singapore for his new role overseeing Southeast Asia air capacity sales.
DHL said Singh brings experience in transformation, revenue management and commercial leadership to the position, with his focus now shifting toward the company’s customers and growth opportunities across Southeast Asia.
Greater focus on Asian air cargo markets
The appointments give DHL Aviation separate senior commercial leadership structures for two strategically important Asian markets.
China remains a major component of global manufacturing and international air freight, while Southeast Asia has become increasingly important to regional and global supply chains as manufacturing and trade networks expand across the region.
DHL has continued to invest in its Asian logistics network, including air freight infrastructure and connectivity. The company’s global aviation operations form part of DHL’s broader integrated logistics network, providing dedicated and contracted air cargo capacity alongside commercial aviation partnerships.
The new appointments are expected to strengthen DHL Aviation’s ability to align capacity and commercial strategies with changing customer requirements in both markets.
With Zhu already in position in Shanghai and Singh preparing to take up his Singapore-based role at the beginning of 2027, DHL Aviation will have dedicated senior sales leadership covering two of Asia’s key air cargo markets.
