ECS Group has been appointed as general sales agent (GSA) for Royal Jordanian Airlines’ cargo operations in the United States, strengthening the carrier’s commercial footprint across key North American airfreight gateways.
Under a multi-year agreement, Royal Jordanian has selected ECS Group’s US subsidiary, Globe Air Cargo (GAC), to manage its cargo sales representation at Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Detroit (DTW). The contract has been effective since 10 January.
As part of the mandate, GAC is responsible for marketing cargo capacity on Royal Jordanian’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner services, providing US exporters with direct access to Amman (AMM) and onward connectivity across the airline’s extensive widebody and freighter network.
The commercial scope of the agreement extends beyond Jordan, supporting trade flows to a range of key destinations across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Asia. Priority markets include Tripoli (TIP), Damascus (DAM), Jeddah (JED), Beirut (BEY), Cairo (CAI), Istanbul (IST), Dubai (DXB) and Bangkok (BKK).
Digital-enabled GSA services
The agreement covers the full spectrum of GSA services and is supported by ECS Group’s integrated digital ecosystem, designed to enhance commercial performance and customer experience. Through advanced tools such as CargoAI, customers will benefit from seamless digital booking, pricing intelligence, and real-time shipment visibility, aligning with growing industry demand for transparency and efficiency.
Jean Ceccaldi, chief executive of ECS Group, said the partnership reflects Royal Jordanian’s confidence in ECS’ ability to drive results in a highly competitive cargo market.
“This partnership reflects the level of trust Royal Jordanian places in our capability to transform their cargo performance in one of the world’s most competitive markets,” Ceccaldi said. “With Globe Air Cargo’s strong presence on the ground and our digital capabilities through CargoAI, ECS Group will accelerate growth for Royal Jordanian while delivering US customers a level of reach and performance they have not previously had access to.”
Khaled Alkhawaldeh, director cargo commercial at Royal Jordanian Airlines, highlighted the strategic value of the appointment.
“Partnering with ECS Group and Globe Air Cargo brings deep market expertise, proven commercial execution and advanced digital tools that will support our growth objectives,” Alkhawaldeh said. “This collaboration will enhance our customer reach and optimise the utilisation of our cargo capacity across key US gateways and beyond.”
The appointment further strengthens ECS Group’s global GSA portfolio and reinforces Royal Jordanian’s commitment to expanding its cargo presence in the US market through technology-enabled partnerships.
