Hong Kong cargo handling leader wins two major terminal awards while logistics subsidiary Hacis earns warehousing excellence honour

Shanghai, China: Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), Hong Kong’s largest independent air cargo handler, has strengthened its standing as one of the world’s premier cargo terminal operators after securing two prestigious honours at the 2026 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards. Its logistics subsidiary, Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis), also received top recognition, giving the group a remarkable triple victory at one of Asia’s most respected logistics award programmes.

At the awards ceremony held at the St. Regis on the Bund, Shanghai, Hactl was named “Best Global Air Cargo Terminal” and “Best Sustainable Air Cargo Terminal”, while Hacis was honoured with the “Best Logistics Service Provider – Warehousing” award. The achievements underscore the group’s continued leadership in cargo terminal operations, sustainability initiatives and integrated logistics services. The awards were officially confirmed by Hactl.

The annual AFLAS Awards, organised by Asia Cargo News, recognise excellence among the world’s leading logistics service providers, including airlines, airports, seaports, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, cargo terminals and logistics companies. The awards evaluate organisations on leadership, operational consistency, innovation, customer relationship management and service reliability.

Unlike many industry awards that rely solely on judging panels, AFLAS winners are selected through a combination of rigorous eligibility screening and votes cast by more than 15,000 readers and e-news subscribers of Asia Cargo News, making the honours a reflection of customer confidence and industry recognition.

Double recognition for Hactl’s global leadership

The Best Global Air Cargo Terminal award recognises Hactl’s sustained excellence in cargo terminal operations and customer service, while the Best Sustainable Air Cargo Terminal accolade highlights the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible operations and sustainable business practices.

These latest awards add to an impressive year for Hactl, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026. Over five decades, the company has evolved into one of the world’s most technologically advanced independent cargo handling operators, serving airlines and freight forwarders through its highly automated SuperTerminal 1 facility at Hong Kong International Airport, one of the world’s busiest international air cargo hubs.

Hactl has continued investing heavily in automation, digital transformation, smart cargo handling technologies, energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives to improve operational performance while reducing environmental impact. These investments have helped strengthen Hong Kong’s competitiveness as a global logistics gateway and enhanced the company’s ability to meet the evolving demands of international supply chains.

Hacis recognised for warehousing excellence

Adding to the celebrations, Hactl’s wholly owned logistics subsidiary Hacis received the Best Logistics Service Provider – Warehousing award, recognising its comprehensive value-added logistics services and warehousing capabilities.

Hacis has established itself as a leading provider of integrated logistics solutions, offering cross-border trucking, warehouse management, inventory control, distribution services and multimodal logistics solutions that connect Hong Kong with mainland China and international markets. The award reflects the company’s continued focus on operational excellence, supply chain efficiency and customer-centric service.

Executive reflects on milestone year

Receiving the awards during the Shanghai ceremony, Hactl Chief Executive Frosti Lau thanked customers and industry partners for their continued support.

“We thank the readers of Asia Cargo News for their continued support and votes. This year has been particularly special for us at Hactl as we celebrate our 50th anniversary.”

Hactl’s Executive Director – Commercial and Business Development, Joanna Li (left), receives the “Best Logistics Service Provider – Warehousing” award on behalf of Hacis at this year’s Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards.

He added that the awards recognise the dedication of the company’s employees and reinforce its commitment to continuous improvement.

“My entire team and I are delighted to accept these three prestigious awards, which recognise our ongoing commitment to excellence and to setting new standards in all areas of the air cargo handling industry.”

Meanwhile, Joanna Li, Executive Director – Commercial and Business Development at Hactl, accepted the Best Logistics Service Provider – Warehousing award on behalf of Hacis, highlighting the subsidiary’s growing contribution to the group’s integrated logistics portfolio.

Reinforcing Hong Kong’s global cargo leadership

The triple recognition comes at a time when the air cargo industry continues to place greater emphasis on operational resilience, digitalisation and environmental sustainability. Cargo terminals are increasingly expected to deliver not only faster and more efficient handling but also measurable progress in reducing emissions, improving energy efficiency and supporting greener supply chains.

For Hactl, the dual terminal awards and Hacis’ warehousing honour reflect a balanced strategy that combines operational excellence with sustainable growth and end-to-end logistics capabilities. As global supply chains become increasingly interconnected and customer expectations continue to rise, the group remains well positioned to strengthen Hong Kong’s role as one of the world’s leading international air cargo and logistics hubs.

The latest AFLAS accolades also reinforce Hactl’s reputation as a benchmark for innovation, reliability and customer service in the global air cargo industry, while demonstrating the growing importance of integrated logistics solutions in supporting international trade and e-commerce.
