Hong Kong-based Kerry Logistics Network Limited (KLN) has entered into a strategic joint venture with POSCO Flow, the logistics arm of South Korea’s leading steelmaker, POSCO Group. The partnership, named POSCO Flow (Thailand), aims to enhance steel logistics capabilities in Thailand and across Southeast Asia.
Expanding a Longstanding Partnership
Through its subsidiary Kerry Siam Seaport (KSSP), KLN will serve as the preferred logistics partner for POSCO Flow (Thailand), providing port operations, warehousing, transportation, customs clearance, and other logistics services. KSSP has been handling POSCO Group’s nominated vessels in Thailand since 2017, making this joint venture a natural progression in their collaboration.
POSCO Group, a Fortune 500 company, operates in 16 countries across multiple continents. The joint venture not only strengthens its logistics infrastructure in Thailand but also lays the foundation for expansion throughout Southeast Asia.
A Strategic Move for Growth
KLN’s Executive Director and CFO, Ellis Cheng, highlighted the importance of the partnership, calling it a milestone in industrial logistics. “This joint venture enables us to further support POSCO Group’s expansion in Thailand while reinforcing KLN’s expertise and presence across Southeast Asia,” he said.
Ha Jong-beom, Head of Steel Logistics at POSCO Flow, emphasized the strategic benefits for POSCO Group’s subsidiaries. “With this collaboration, we are not only improving steel logistics in Thailand but also gaining a competitive edge across the broader Southeast Asian market,” he noted.
Strengthening Thailand’s Logistics Hub
KSSP, a multi-purpose deep-sea port, is a key logistics hub for Thailand’s industrial estates and the Greater Mekong Region. Its partnership with POSCO Flow is expected to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance steel supply chain management in the region.
