Munich Airport Group reported a net profit after taxes of €169 million in 2025, more than doubling the previous year’s figure by €105 million, driven by robust growth in both passenger traffic and cargo operations.
The airport recorded revenue of nearly €1.8 billion, setting a new annual high. Operating profit before interest and taxes rose to €219 million, up from €195 million in 2024, reflecting stronger traffic volumes and operational efficiency.
Passenger traffic at the Bavarian hub reached 43.4 million, an increase of 1.8 million travelers or 4.4% year-on-year. Flight movements also grew, with over 337,000 takeoffs and landings, marking a 3.1% rise compared to 2024.
Growth was led by European and intercontinental routes, with European and Mediterranean destinations up around 4%, while long-haul traffic surged approximately 9%, underscoring the airport’s expanding global connectivity.
Munich Airport’s network now serves 232 destinations worldwide, with 96 airlines, including five dedicated freighter operators, maintaining regular services.
The cargo segment continued its positive momentum, with airfreight volumes rising 10% to approximately 340,000 tons, exceeding pre-pandemic levels by 2%. This performance highlights the airport’s strategic role as a major cargo hub in Europe.
