NorthLink’s south campus air cargo terminal will have 11 power-through hardstands. ANC is said to be one of the busiest cargo airports in the world and provides refuelling facilities for transpacific air cargo.

Air cargo carrier National Air Cargo has signed an agreement with NorthLink Aviation for hardstand terminal capacity at the latter’s air cargo terminal at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) in Alaska, US.

NorthLink’s proposed south campus air cargo terminal will have 11 power-through hardstands.

The terminal will also include four push-back hardstands, two dedicated deicing stands, a ground service equipment facility and an updated air cargo warehouse near the hardstands.

In addition, the terminal will add dual-hydrant fuelling systems at each hardstand, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified office space for customers and operations teams, and provisions for the recovery and recycling of the onsite glycol used to deice aircraft.

National Air Cargo chairman Christopher Alf said: “Our agreement with NorthLink Aviation will enhance our growing global airline operations and service offerings.

“The state-of-the-art facility at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport will position National at one of the busiest cargo hubs in the world.”

Against the backdrop of increasing air cargo volumes between Asia and North America, NorthLink expects to offer refuelling, deicing and other capabilities to air carriers.

The company also aims to provide facilities for safely exchanging cargo at ANC. Last November, private equity firm Tiger Infrastructure Partners acquired a controlling stake in NorthLink Aviation.

NorthLink CEO Sean Dolan said, “We understand the critical importance of ANC to National’s global operations and are eager to build a long-term partnership with the National team.” NorthLink Aviation has already signed a 55-year concession for a 120-acre property on ANC’s South Park campus. The company is currently building infrastructure for aircraft parking, fuelling, deicing, and other facilities at the campus. ANC is said to be one of the busiest cargo airports in the world and provides refueling facilities for transpacific air cargo.
