Network Cargo Management (NCM) and Philippine Airlines, the flag carrier airline of the Philippines, have renewed their long-standing GSSA contract in Canada for a further 3 years with effect from the 5th of February 2024.
Philippine Airlines directly operates its A350 and B777 aircraft from Manila to Toronto and Vancouver in Canada and connects to other destinations in the country such as Edmonton, Winnipeg and Calgary through its codeshare partner WestJet. In November 2023, the airline announced the introduction of a third weekly nonstop frequency on its Manila – Toronto route starting April 5, 2024.
In 2023, the total net revenue of Philippine Airlines grew 27 percent YoY from $2.6B (PHP 139B) to $3.2B (PHP 181B) while cargo revenue fell 40 percent from $238 thousand to $142 thousand. The airline carried 197,222 tonnes of cargo in 2023 compared to 159,512 in 2022, an increase of 24 per cent.
