Qatar Airways Cargo continued its digital push with the implementation of data connections with air cargo software provider WiseTech Global.
The airline said the direct connection with WiseTech would help eliminate multiple points of intermediary data exchange between freight forwarders and airline operating systems.
“These direct data feeds also add real value by removing the extensive data duplication that has proliferated over the years, easing the burden on freight forwarders and reducing the complexities and costs that result,” Qatar Cargo said.
In addition, through the CargoWise connection, the data from the freight forwarder’s air waybill will be immediately available to Qatar Airways’ global ground handling network, the company added.
Guillaume Halleux, Chief Cargo Officer at Qatar Airways Cargo, said: “[Our agreement with WiseTech] will also support the future growth of the air cargo industry by removing technical risks and reducing costs. This first step provides a solid basis for continued product and technical connectivity between Qatar Airways Cargo and its large customer base. “
The airline has launched a series of digital initiatives in recent years. More recently he added his ability to the WebCargo reservation platform in the we.
