Saudia Cargo has launched a new Fly Pharma product to meet growing demand from the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector. The carrier says Fly Pharma will offer temperature controlled transportation and handling at two service levels.
Fly Pharma Active is designed for pharmaceuticals that have high sensitivity and require a specific temperature and will include the lease of sophisticated active temperature control containers from providers such as Envirotainer, Csafe and Do-Kasch.
Additionally, Fly Pharma Passive takes advantage of the latest developments in advanced passive solution technology for products needing transportation between +2oC to + 8oC or +15oC to + 25oC.
Launched in conjunction with the opening of the regional’s newest facility the 1,010 square metrs pharmaceutical handling centre at Jeddah, Fly Pharma will offer prioritised ground handling from flight arrival as well as expedited Customs and Saudi FDA clearance.
Good Distribution Practice (GDP) compliant quality systems have been incorporated, with a dedicated handling team specifically trained to international GDP requirements.

With the new facility at Jeddah now open, Fly Pharma will soon be extended to include Riyadh (where an 800 square metres specialist pharmaceutical handling facility is due to open shortly) as well as other airports in the Saudia Cargo network.
