Swiss WorldCargo has signed up to use one of Sonoco ThermoSafe’s temperature-controlled shipping containers.
The airline has signed a master lease agreement to deploy the firm’s Pegasus ULD starting this winter.
The temperature-controlled container is approved by the US Federal Aviation Administration and European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
Sonoco said its container is made of composite materials that are more damage-resistant than metal boxes and also offers real-time location tracking and data on payload and ambient temperature.
Bourji Mourad, director of global logistics and partner management for Sonoco ThermoSafe’s Bulk Rental Group, said: “Healthcare companies and their logistics providers can access the Pegasus ULD fleet via Swiss WorldCargo’s extensive global network and through their branded products SWISS Pharma & Healthcare, General Cargo and Perishables.”
Christian Wyss, head of cargo offering development and steering at Swiss WorldCargo, added: “We look forward to offering the Pegasus ULD as part of our transportation/temperature solutions for rental.”
