Texel Air Australasia has added another 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) to its growing fleet, a strategic move to enhance its charter operations, Trans-Tasman routes, and Pacific flights. The Auckland-based ACMI/charter cargo airline, a subsidiary of Bahrain’s Chisholm Enterprises, made the announcement on LinkedIn on March 3, unveiling the new aircraft, named “Lynn.”
This latest addition marks the sixth 737-800BCF for Texel Air Australasia, bringing the total fleet of the Texel Air group to 11 of these freighters. The aircraft, which arrived from Jakarta via Denpasar, touched down in Auckland under temporary registration 2-BPDA before continuing to Hamilton Aero Maintenance Ltd at Hamilton International Airport (FLYYHM) for conversion to New Zealand’s ZK-TXF registration.
Texel Air Australasia highlighted that this fleet expansion positions the airline to grow its presence in key markets, particularly in charter services, Trans-Tasman flights, and routes into the Pacific.
Launched in June 2023, Texel Air Australasia initially focused on charter services for Parceline Express, a subsidiary of Freightways and New Zealand Post. The airline’s fleet includes the 737-300F, 737-700 FlexCombi, and 737-800BCF, offering a diverse range of freighter options to meet growing demand.
