Recently launched GSSA Tamex will provide services for airline T’Way Air’s new flight to Croatia – the first service to link the two cities since 2019.

The re-launched service from the South Korean low-cost carrier will operate between Incheon and Zagreb utilizing an Airbus A330-300 widebody aircraft.

The service will operate three times per week and starts on May 16. The flights include a technical stop in Bishkek on the outbound leg due to the range of the aircraft and the need to avoid Russian airspace.

Tamex said that Croatia is a “strategically positioned country at the intersection of Central and Southeast Europe”.

T’Way is launching a series of European flights due to the merger between Korean Air and Asiana.

European regulatory authorities said the carriers would need to stop certain services as part of the approval of the merger, creating an opportunity for T’Way to step in.

Korean Air has leased five A330-200 aircraft to T’Way as part of the move. It will add flights to Paris, Rome, Barcelona, and Frankfurt later this year.

The last time a service was operated between Incheon and Zagreb was in 2019, with seasonal flights operated by Korean Air.

The GSSA was officially launched in April when Hong Kong-headquartered logistics company Extrans Global partnered with fellow Hong-based GSSA TAM Group to establish the joint venture (JV).

The companies plan to expand the GSA business through strategic cooperation based on TAM Group’s global network and Extrans Global’s sales.

The JV’s chief executive position will alternate between the two companies every two years, with Lee Sang-ho, chief executive of Extrans Global, first taking up the role.

Extrans Global operates 15 branch offices in seven countries worldwide. The company’s business areas include freight forwarding, CFS logistics, 3PL, warehouse operations, and cross-border transportation.

TAM Group, established in 1977, currently has 27 branch offices in 10 countries globally. The business is divided into passenger, cruise, and cargo services, providing GSA services for airlines such as Air India, Saudi Airlines, Latam Cargo, and Air China Cargo.
