Scanex Enterprises Ltd will be attending the WACO Extraordinary General Meeting this October for business development opportunities

The WACO System has appointed Scanex Enterprises Ltd (Scanex) as the network’s representative in Azerbaijan.

Scanex is headquartered in the Azeri capital, Baku, and the independent freight forwarder offers road, air and sea freight solutions.

“Scanex is a young and dynamic company that offers a full range of logistics services, and WACO members will benefit from the opportunities that the company will bring to them for the central Caucasus region,” said Richard Charles, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), WACO.

“I am pleased to welcome Scanex to the upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in Bangkok where they can meet their WACO partners for exploring business growth opportunities.”

Azerbaijan has an oil-dependent and emerging economy, and apart from growing international investment in developing the country’s oil and gas potential, the construction sector is rapidly developing.

“Azerbaijan is a busy transit zone, which connects Europe, Russia, and Asia, and that will create many opportunities for our partners in WACO,” said Kanan Sadigli, Managing Director, Scanex.

“We are very positive about joining WACO and have already received invitations to meetings from numerous WACO members, who we are also looking forward to meeting at the EGM.”

The EGM takes place this October and creates a networking environment with opportunities for WACO members to meet and participate in seminars and workshops aimed at giving them an edge in the competitive freight forwarding sector.

Lars Jensen of SeaIntelligence Consulting will be running a dedicated workshop on creating a framework to develop a digitalisation strategy for freight forwarders, and Nancy Verma of Drewery Shipping Consultants will present a statistical analysis of the current market outlook.
