My Freighter begins flights to Shanghai and Ezhou

Uzbekistan-based My Freighter has begun operating flights to Shanghai and Ezhou after receiving authorization to carry out flights on routes to and from Mainland China in April.

The Tashkent-hubbed airline said in a LinkedIn post on July 6 that it had carried out its first cargo flight to Shanghai. The airline confirmed: “Flights will be operated three times a week.”

Last week, the airline also carried out its inaugural cargo flight to Ezhou, confirmed in a LinkedIn post.

“We are planning to run up to 10 flights per week on the Tashkent-Ezhou-Tashkent route in the future,” stated My Freighter.

My Freighter obtained CCAR129 certification in April, permitting operations on routes to and from Mainland China.

The airline also aims to grow in the US. Last month, My Freighter and Air Europa announced an interline agreement that will allow My Freighter to add flights to the Americas and Air Europa to expand into Asia.

As well as growing its network, My Freighter is investing in its fleet. Just this month it signed an agreement to grow its Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) leased fleet of Boeing 767-300 passenger to freighter (P2F) aircraft to five.

My Freighter also previously planned to build 747-200Fs into its operations. The airline took delivery of a 747-200F in October 2022 and said at the time it planned to add five more, but current data from Planespotters shows it no longer has the aircraft. This follows reduced demand in 2023 that resulted in many airlines changing their fleet plans.

In addition to cargo flights, the airline offers passenger flights. Cargo flights are operated under ‘My Freighter Cargo Airlines’, whilst passenger flights are operated under ‘Centrum Air’.
