Cathay Pacific director of cargo Tom Owen will be stepping down from his position later this year, with Dominic Perrett, current regional general manager Southeast Asia, due to take up the role.
After five years of leading Hong Kong Airport-based Cathay Cargo, Owen will become group director of corporate development at aircraft engineering and maintenance firm Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO), part of the Swire Group.
“I will miss all the colleagues at Cathay Cargo and also the industry friends with whom I have worked over the past years, and I thank everyone for making my time in the air cargo industry so special,” said Owen. “It’s been a privilege to be part of the successes Cathay Cargo has achieved in recent years, and we will have many more to come in the future.”
Perrett has been working for Cathay since 2000, bar a brief stint at Swire Pacific Offshore, which was formerly owned by Swire Pacific, part of the Swire Group, which has a majority shareholding in Cathay.
Perrett has been the regional general manager for Southeast Asia since August 2021. Before that, he was general manager of customer care.
Other roles at the airline have included general manager aircrew, flight operations, and general manager inflight services.
