CMA CGM has officially launched a new scheduled air cargo connection between Paris and Hanoi, further strengthening trade links between Europe and Southeast Asia as demand for high-value manufacturing exports, e-commerce shipments, and industrial cargo continues to rise.
The new service marks another strategic expansion for CMA CGM Air Cargo, which confirmed the launch of operations from Noi Bai International Airport to Paris in early May. According to operational data and company-linked announcements, the inaugural flight departed on May 9, 2026, operated by a Boeing 777F, one of the carrier’s long-haul workhorses.
The newly introduced routing currently operates as:
Paris – Hanoi – Navoiy – Paris
with Navoiy serving as the technical stop on the westbound sector. The Central Asian stop not only supports operational efficiency but also reinforces the growing role of Uzbekistan as a strategic cargo bridge connecting Asia and Europe.
Industry tracking data indicates that the aircraft has already completed multiple rotations since launch, signaling that the service is now fully operational.
Strengthening Vietnam’s Export Connectivity
The addition of Hanoi significantly enhances Vietnam’s direct air cargo connectivity with Europe at a time when the country continues to strengthen its position as one of Asia’s fastest-growing export manufacturing hubs.
Vietnam’s air freight demand remains driven by:
Consumer electronics
Semiconductor components
Fashion and textile exports
E-commerce fulfillment
Industrial machinery and automotive components
By introducing direct widebody freighter capacity into Northern Vietnam, CMA CGM is positioning itself to capture growing outbound volumes from the country’s expanding manufacturing ecosystem.
Hanoi and its surrounding industrial zones host major production facilities supplying European retailers, electronics manufacturers, and industrial buyers, making the new service strategically aligned with existing trade flows.
Part of a Wider Asian Expansion Strategy
The Hanoi launch also underlines CMA CGM Air Cargo’s continued investment across Asia as the group builds a more diversified long-haul air network anchored around its Paris hub.
The airline currently operates with a fleet of six freighter aircraft and continues to expand its scheduled cargo footprint across Europe, Asia, and North America. Company fleet data confirms ongoing deployment of Boeing 777 freighters alongside its Airbus cargo fleet.
By connecting Vietnam with Europe via a dedicated freighter service, CMA CGM strengthens its ability to offer integrated sea-air-land logistics solutions, leveraging the wider group’s global supply chain infrastructure.
As manufacturers continue diversifying sourcing strategies across Southeast Asia, the Paris–Hanoi connection is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting time-sensitive cargo flows between Vietnam, Central Asia, and European markets.
