Global aviation group, AIR ONE, has partnered with Dubai-based Proactive Logistic Solutions FZCO (PLS) to transport an industrial gas turbine to Kazakhstan from the UK’s East Midlands Airport.
The outsize shipment, measuring close to 3 metres in height and weighing more than 8,400kgs, was travelling to Aktau in southwestern Kazakhstan from Aberdeen on a Boeing 747-400F charter organised for PLS by AIR ONE, supporting one of the world’s leading gas turbine maintenance, repair and overhaul specialist.
The 747 freighter was operated by One Air, AIR ONE’s UK-based affiliate carrier.
Petr Novozhenov, Managing Director of Proactive Logistic Solutions FZCO, praised the teamwork behind the seamless transportation project. Upon arrival at Aktau International Airport, the final stage of the gas turbine’s journey to its destination in Kazakhstan was managed by PLS with the support of its local partner, Aviation & Forwarding Solutions (AFS).
Clair Gunn, AIR ONE’s Commercial Operations Director, said the delivery demonstrates the capabilities of the company’s cargo loading specialists and its fleet availability. PLS was founded in 2023 in Dubai and specialises in niche cargo transportation, including perishables, live animals, and outsized freight.
