Awery Aviation Software has appointed air cargo industry veteran Cornelia Korsch as Global Development Director for Awery and its CargoBooking platform, as the company moves to expand airline capacity and accelerate digital adoption among freight forwarders.
Awery Aviation Software has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Cornelia Korsch as Global Development Director, giving her responsibility for both Awery and CargoBooking, the company’s digital quoting and booking platform.
In her new role, Korsch will focus on expanding the number of airlines and available capacity on CargoBooking while supporting wider adoption of the platform among international freight forwarders.
The appointment brings more than 30 years of air freight industry experience to Awery, spanning airline sales, logistics technology, commercial development and strategic partnerships.
Korsch’s previous career includes senior partnership roles at WebCargo by Freightos and AirBridgeCargo Airlines, as well as more than two decades with Cargolux Airlines.
Expanding digital cargo distribution
Korsch said CargoBooking’s technology provides airlines with an opportunity to make available capacity more accessible to freight forwarders while simplifying the booking process.
She highlighted the platform’s AI-enabled capabilities and its potential to improve the way airlines distribute capacity digitally and how forwarders search for and secure air freight space.
Her appointment comes as airlines and forwarders continue to increase their reliance on digital platforms to streamline quotations, capacity discovery and bookings.
Awery’s existing software portfolio includes cargo quotation and booking functions, rate management, schedule management, online cargo booking and automated communications.
Focus on airline participation
Awery founder and CEO Vitaly Smilianets said Korsch’s understanding of airline requirements would be important as the company seeks to bring more carriers onto CargoBooking.
The company sees expanding airline participation as a key element of its digital distribution strategy, giving freight forwarders access to a broader selection of capacity through a single digital environment.
For airlines, wider participation in digital distribution can provide an additional channel for presenting schedules, rates and available cargo capacity to forwarding customers.
Strengthening Awery’s commercial leadership
Korsch’s appointment follows the recent recruitment of Gianluca Marcangelo as Executive Vice President of Global Sales, further strengthening Awery’s commercial leadership as it expands internationally.
The company is also increasing its engagement with the global cargo and e-commerce community.
Smilianets and Marcangelo are scheduled to represent Awery at the EU Cross Border E-commerce Forum in Liège, Belgium, from 8–10 September 2026, highlighting the company’s focus on the intersection between aviation technology, cargo distribution and cross-border e-commerce.
Awery’s broader software platform covers key airline, cargo and freight-forwarding processes, including cargo quotations, bookings, flight and truck schedules, cargo operations, reporting and electronic cargo support.
Digitalisation reshapes air cargo distribution
The appointment comes at a time when digitalisation is increasingly influencing how air cargo capacity is marketed and purchased.
For freight forwarders, digital booking platforms can provide faster access to schedules, rates and capacity, while airlines can use technology to broaden distribution without relying exclusively on traditional sales channels.
Awery’s latest leadership appointment reflects this changing environment, with Korsch expected to use her extensive airline and technology experience to strengthen relationships with carriers and expand the reach of CargoBooking.
