Air Canada is set to expand its South American network with the launch of new nonstop services to Quito, Ecuador, from Montreal and Toronto beginning in December 2026.
The new services will connect Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) with Air Canada’s two global hubs, providing additional connectivity between Ecuador, Canada and onward destinations in North America and Europe. Air Canada announced the Quito expansion as part of its 2026–27 winter international network.
The Montreal–Quito service will operate three times a week, while the Toronto–Quito service will operate once a week. Both routes are scheduled to be operated with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
The Montreal service, flight AC962, is scheduled to operate from December 4, 2026, through March 26, 2027, with departures from Montreal on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The return Quito–Montreal service, AC963, will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays through March 27, 2027.
The Toronto–Quito service, flight AC960, is scheduled to operate from December 5, 2026, through March 20, 2027, with the return service, AC961, operating from Quito to Toronto on Sundays through March 21, 2027.
Air Canada is positioning the new routes as an addition to its international network, with connections through its Montreal and Toronto hubs providing access to destinations across North America and Europe. The airline’s current booking platform lists both Montreal–Quito and Toronto–Quito as new nonstop destinations beginning in December.
The new connectivity comes as Canada and Ecuador deepen their commercial relationship. The two countries signed the Canada–Ecuador Free Trade Agreement on July 24, 2026, although the agreement still requires completion of domestic ratification procedures before it enters into force.
Air Canada’s expansion adds a direct air link between Ecuador and two of Canada’s principal aviation hubs, creating additional options for passengers travelling between the two countries and for onward connections across the carrier’s wider international network.
