UK freight forwarding and logistics group Davies Turner has acquired a newly completed logistics facility near London Heathrow Airport, which will become the new headquarters of Davies Turner Air Cargo as the company expands its airfreight operations.
The 130,000 sq ft facility represents a significant investment in the group’s logistics infrastructure and is intended to strengthen operational capacity, improve efficiency and support future customer growth at the UK’s principal international air cargo gateway.
Located less than two miles from Heathrow’s cargo terminal and approximately 500 yards from Junction 14 of the M25 motorway, the site offers access to the airport and major road networks serving the wider UK logistics market.
The acquisition forms part of Davies Turner’s long-term strategy to invest in infrastructure that provides additional capacity and flexibility for its airfreight business.
Warehouse space and handling capacity
The facility includes approximately 70,000 sq ft of high-specification warehouse space, with a clear internal height of 12.5 metres. Two mezzanine floors provide a further 50,000 sq ft of operational space.
The building also features five dock-loading doors, two level-access loading doors and approximately 10,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation. The combination of warehouse and office space is designed to support cargo handling, logistics operations and coordination between operational and administrative teams.
The new headquarters will provide Davies Turner Air Cargo with a modern base close to Heathrow’s cargo infrastructure, enabling the company to develop its services and respond to changing customer requirements.
James Wheatley, managing director of Davies Turner Air Cargo, described the acquisition as a major milestone for the business and reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the UK airfreight market.
He said the facility would provide the capacity, infrastructure and operational flexibility needed to support customers’ future growth and enable the company to continue developing its services.
Sustainability credentials
The newly completed building has achieved a BREEAM Excellent certification and an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) A+ rating, reflecting its environmental and energy-efficiency credentials.
These features support the group’s wider objective of investing in modern logistics infrastructure while addressing the growing importance of energy performance and sustainability in warehouse operations.
The site is currently being prepared for occupation, with an official opening scheduled for later in 2026.
Strengthening Heathrow operations
Heathrow remains a key gateway for UK international airfreight, connecting freight forwarders with global airline networks and onward road distribution. Establishing its air cargo headquarters close to the airport will give Davies Turner a dedicated platform for managing its Heathrow-related operations and expanding its presence in the market.
The acquisition underlines the continued importance of strategically located warehouse facilities in airfreight logistics, where proximity to airport cargo terminals, road connectivity and flexible handling space can influence operational performance and customer service.
Once operational, the new headquarters is expected to support Davies Turner Air Cargo’s long-term development and strengthen its ability to serve customers moving goods through Heathrow.
