Riga. Latvian airline airBaltic has announced that in cooperation with UkrPoshta it has organized a multimodal mail transportation system and thus reopened cargo operations from Kyiv, Ukraine.
Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “We do our utmost to help the Ukrainian nation. As a result, a regular truck line Kyiv-Riga now feeds airBaltic flight network from Ukraine to major European hubs and beyond.”
The first mail shipment from Kyiv arrived in Riga on April 12. Since then the company has handled more than 7 000 mail bags from Ukraine with a total weight of over 50 tonnes.
