beOnd signs MOU with Aeroprime to explore India cargo partnership

Premium leisure airline beOnd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Aeroprime Group to explore the appointment of the Indian aviation services company as its Cargo General Sales and Service Agent (Cargo GSSA) in India.

The proposed partnership would support beOnd’s plans to develop its cargo business alongside its passenger operations and strengthen its presence in India, which the airline identifies as a priority growth market.

Under the MOU, Aeroprime would support beOnd’s cargo activities in India, drawing on its experience in airline cargo management, market development and relationships across the Indian air freight sector.

The agreement represents a potential new component of beOnd’s broader strategy to develop an aviation ecosystem around its international passenger network, with cargo identified as an additional commercial opportunity.

Cargo strategy supports India expansion

beOnd chief executive officer Tero Taskila said India was among the airline’s highest-priority markets and that cargo would play an important role in developing its wider commercial ecosystem.

“India is one of our highest-priority markets, and cargo is central to building a sustainable ecosystem within our AOCs,” Taskila said.

He added that working with Aeroprime would allow beOnd to enter the market with the support of a partner already familiar with India’s aviation and cargo environment.

The proposed arrangement would give Aeroprime responsibility for supporting beOnd’s cargo representation in India, including market development and commercial activities, subject to the finalisation of the GSSA appointment.

Aeroprime has established a portfolio of airline representation agreements in the Indian market, covering cargo sales, passenger sales and related commercial services. Its recent appointments include cargo representation for international carriers seeking to expand their presence in India.

Aeroprime brings Indian cargo expertise

Abhishek Goyal, executive director and chief executive officer of Aeroprime Group, said the company was looking forward to exploring the cargo partnership with beOnd.

“beOnd has introduced a distinctive premium proposition to the aviation market, and we look forward to working closely with the company as it develops its ecosystem and cargo strategy for India,” Goyal said.

He said Aeroprime’s experience in the Indian market would support beOnd’s longer-term ambitions in the country.

The proposed cargo partnership comes as India’s air freight market continues to expand, supported by growth in pharmaceuticals, electronics, e-commerce, perishables and other time-sensitive commodities.

For international airlines entering or expanding in India, GSSA partnerships provide a route into the market without requiring the carrier to establish a full local sales organisation. Cargo GSSAs typically support airline customers and freight forwarders through sales, marketing, booking coordination and market development.

Separate passenger representation

The proposed cargo relationship should be distinguished from beOnd’s passenger sales representation in India.

In July 2026, beOnd announced the appointment of Minar Group as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in India ahead of its planned market expansion. The appointment relates to beOnd’s passenger business.

The Aeroprime MOU, by contrast, concerns a potential dedicated cargo GSSA role.

That separation would allow beOnd to develop specialist commercial representation for its cargo activities while continuing to build its passenger distribution network through its existing partners.

Building a broader aviation ecosystem

beOnd has positioned itself as a premium leisure airline focused on long-haul destinations and an enhanced passenger experience. The carrier has been expanding its network and fleet while developing partnerships intended to support its international growth.

Adding a dedicated cargo strategy could provide the airline with an additional revenue stream and allow it to make greater commercial use of available belly capacity on passenger services.

For Aeroprime, a potential partnership with beOnd would add another international airline to its Indian cargo portfolio and further expand its role in supporting overseas carriers entering the country.

The MOU is therefore an initial step rather than a final GSSA appointment. If the parties proceed with the proposed arrangement, Aeroprime would support beOnd’s cargo sales and market development in India as the airline expands its presence in the country.
