Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) recorded a 13 per cent year-on-year increase in coriander handling during the June–November 2025 season, managing a total of 5,904 metric tonnes. The growth reflects the continued strengthening of India’s domestic agricultural trade and highlights BLR Airport’s strategic role in supporting time-sensitive agri-cargo.
During the season, BLR Airport facilitated steady coriander shipments across 22 domestic destinations. Volumes to northern and central markets saw notable growth, particularly in Lucknow, Varanasi and Jaipur. Kolkata remained the largest single destination for coriander, followed by Delhi, Bagdogra, Ranchi and Patna, underscoring strong demand across eastern and northern consumption hubs.
To cater to evolving demand patterns and expanding domestic corridors, BLR Airport also supported shipments to five additional destinations during the season, including Agartala, Agra, Nagpur, Amritsar and Port Blair. These expansions reflect the airport’s commitment to enhancing domestic connectivity and providing reliable, efficient cargo handling services for agricultural commodities.
“The 2025 coriander season demonstrates the airport’s ability to manage growing volumes efficiently while meeting the needs of India’s dynamic agri-cargo sector,” said a senior official at BLR Airport. “By supporting new routes and strengthening existing corridors, BLR continues to play a pivotal role in enabling seamless distribution across the country.”
Overall, the coriander season highlights evolving demand trends and the growing importance of domestic cargo connectivity, reinforcing BLR Airport’s position as a key hub for handling high-volume, time-sensitive agricultural shipments.
