UK-based airfreight wholesaler Cargonet has appointed Andy Sullivan as commercial director, reinforcing its commercial and sales structure as the company continues to expand its footprint in the competitive air cargo market.
Sullivan, who joined the business in 2023, has played a central role in building and leading Cargonet’s external sales function. During his tenure, he has contributed to driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships, and enhancing the company’s market-facing capabilities.
In his new role, Sullivan will take on full responsibility for regional commercial activities, while continuing to oversee the external sales team. His remit will also extend into broader strategic and operational areas, reflecting the company’s intent to align commercial performance with overall business objectives.
The appointment signals a deliberate move by Cargonet to further professionalise its commercial approach, with an emphasis on integrated sales strategies and customer-centric service delivery. The company noted that Sullivan will play an expanded role in shaping commercial strategy and supporting day-to-day operational execution.
Commenting on the promotion, managing director Steve Landy highlighted Sullivan’s impact since joining the organisation, pointing to his contribution in strengthening the company’s commercial capabilities. The leadership team views the move as part of a broader effort to position Cargonet for sustained growth in the evolving airfreight sector.
Sullivan, in response, described the promotion as an opportunity to build on recent momentum and further enhance the company’s service offering. He emphasised his focus on continuing to develop customer support and expanding Cargonet’s market presence at a pivotal stage in its growth trajectory.
The leadership change comes as Cargonet intensifies its focus on scaling operations and capturing new opportunities within the global air cargo industry, where demand for flexible and responsive wholesale capacity solutions remains strong.
