UK-based freight forwarder LILA International Logistics is aiming to expand next year after a successful 2020.
The start-up forwarder was launched in 2018 and is currently a team of four but hopes to expand numbers next year and move to larger offices after bringing on PPE provider as a customer this year — it recently handled a series of large shipments for the company on behalf of the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the country’s government.
Managing director Ian Antonio set up the company towards the end of 2018, having worked within the freight forwarding industry for 15 years previously.
“As with a majority of companies, the Covid-19 pandemic and its unprecedented knock-on effects started off as challenging, but has actually opened up many doors and avenues for LILA as a company,” he said.
“An example of this would be being selected to handle and move specialist PPE equipment and goods worldwide on behalf of the DHSC.
“We had a very successful first two years of trading, and our aim is to continue to grow the team in 2021 to help us progress and expand on our existing client base.”
